Senior Wealth Advisor & Portfolio Manager
David Bennett is a Senior Wealth Advisor & Portfolio Manager with Bennett Stimson Wealth Advisors. When not with clients, he is charged with leading portfolio and investment strategy. David is proud to join Wellington-Altus after 23 years with a major Canadian bank-owned brokerage firm.
After earning his Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from the University of Winnipeg, David continued his commitment to higher learning by earning several important industry designations: CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®), and what most in the industry consider the gold standard in money management education, the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®). David has also taught finance at the University of Lethbridge in the Dhillon School of Business.
David is proud of the path he took to arrive in his position today. Hired as an entry-level assistant in 1999, David quickly earned his way to Associate Investment Advisor (2003), Investment Advisor (2008), Portfolio Manager (2013), and Senior Investment Advisor and Portfolio Manager (2015).
Building long-lasting relationships is what motivates David each day. Professionally, he enjoys the challenge of assisting clients with building and monitoring strategies designed to endure the emotions of markets while removing the stress, anxieties, and sometimes burden that can come with their wealth. When done right, long-lasting relationships are often the result.
David is humbled by the love and support of his wife Sherri and their three rescue dogs – Marv, Dale, and Harriet. An outdoor enthusiast, he can often be found riding all things on two wheels. Always up to something, David is most excited about pedaling the Great Divide Trail with his friends over the next few summers.
David thoroughly enjoys meeting new people and would love the opportunity to see if Bennett Stimson Wealth Advisors can add value to your financial journey.
